Organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Be My Friend campaign which kicked off in the beginning of September, aims to build a positive attitude among all members of the society towards children with disability.

The campaign is part of the 'School for Everyone' initiative that forms the centerpiece of the ministry's strategy to promote the well-being and safeguard the rights of persons with special needs. The campaign includes TV ads, cartoon series, 3D flashes, flyers and posters as well as creation of other promotional materials.

As part of its support to the campaign, and in an attempt to help maximize the campaign's impact, Marmum will support the Be My Friend campaign by printing its logo on 100,000 dairy products.

"We are pleased to join hands with the Ministry of Social Affairs for this noble venture. As a responsible corporate citizen, Marmum believes in offering its resources and goodwill to initiatives that contribute to the betterment of society and support the socio-economic development of UAE. Over the years, we have been associated with several social and community initiatives including Tedad (UAE Census), and our support to the Be My Friend campaign is but a continuation of our CSR program,"
said S R K Raju, General Manager of Marmum Dairy Farm.

He added, "It is very important that children with disability are integrated into the educational and social mainstream so that they do not feel excluded or discriminated against. Fostering genuine empathy for disabled children among their co-students and teachers is equally vital; not only will this help children with disability to lead a normal life and enable them to realize their full potential, it will also allow their fully-abled peers to grow into compassionate human beings who are thoughtful of the needs of others."

Marmum Dairy Farm is one of the largest dairy farms in the UAE with an annual production of 20 million litres. The first HACCP-certified dairy farm in the UAE, Marmum boasts a diverse portfolio of Milk, Laban, Yoghurt & Juice products available in more than 2,500 outlets across the UAE.
