The Sauber Edition cars are a version of the BMW 135i, featuring distinctive racing stripe decals from BMW's 'M' performance range, in addition to special performance brakes, exhaust and aerodynamic packages. The car has also been fitted with modified rims and a suede steering wheel.
"Abu Dhabi Motors has always prided itself on bringing its customers unique vehicles. Only 200 Sauber Editon BMW 1 Series have been produced for the whole world, and we have managed to bring five of them here to Abu Dhabi. We expect a huge amount of interest in them, especially as the emirate is hosting its first Grand Prix in November,"said Arno Husselmann, General Manager, Abu Dhabi Motors.
Performance wise, the cars boast 306 bhp and a top speed of 250 km/hr in addition to BMW's twin turbo engine.
This can be increased even further by the AC Shnitzer pack, which takes the car up to 360 bhp, a top speed of 293 kph, and an acceleration of 0-100 kph in just 4.9 seconds.
The cars are expected to become collector items, due to the one-off production run of only 200 vehicles worldwide.
