Al Ahli, the reigning Etisalat Pro League Champions, and Al Ain, winners of the President's Cup, will compete for the prestigious prize in front of an expected capacity crowd of 25,000 football fans.

This event is the first example of the stated intention of Dubai Sports City to bring a wide range of events to the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The stadium, though designed primarily for cricket, also has the capability of being a multi-purpose venue that can be used for a variety of events.

According to Dubai Sports City CEO, U Balasubramaniam, fans will love the atmosphere at Dubai's newest sporting venue:

Balasubramaniam said:
"We are delighted to welcome two great football teams - Al Ahli and Al Ain - to Dubai Sports City. I am confident they will be excited and impressed by the facilities we have to offer, and both teams will enjoy playing on the wonderful playing surface that our ground staff have produced for this historic occasion."

The Dubai International Cricket Stadium was launched with the successful hosting of the cricket series between Pakistan and Australia earlier this year, when over 60,000 watched two ODI's and one 20:20 game between the two sides.

"Dubai Sports City is proud to host this year's Etisalat Super Cup. It promises to be a wonderful occasion for players and fans alike, and I wish both teams the very best of luck," concluded Balasubramaniam.
