The customised space of more than 29, 000 sq. feet will allow the global leader in professional audiovisual and communication solutions to house offices, system pre-build areas and storage under one roof, ensuring a seamless customer experience and enhancing operational efficiency. The move is expected to take place in November this year with Sony Professional's operations completely migrating into IMPZ by early 2010.

Dr. Amina Al Rostamani, CEO, TECOM Business Parks said:

"We are pleased to welcome Sony Professional that shares an excellent synergy with IMPZ. Through its enhanced operations at the free zone, we are confident it will play a vital role in significantly impacting the future of the local media production industry."

Hideaki Nakamura, Regional Director, Sony Professional Solutions Middle East, said: "We continue to embark on aggressive expansion in all Middle Eastern markets. The last two decades have seen significant growth for our regional operations, making it necessary to better equip ourselves for meeting the increasing demands of the future.

"This move is not only about expansion but also about improving the Sony experience for current customers. We can now house our whole offering in one centralized and convenient location - from demonstrating solutions, building them and offering support following their installation."

Saeed AlFalasi, Executive Director, IMPZ said: "The presence of industry leaders such as Sony Professional takes us closer to realizing the vision of developing IMPZ into a global media production hub. By providing a pro-business environment, state-of-the-art technology and community infrastructure, we hope to support additional partners and foster the growth of the media industry."

TECOM Investments' media entities - Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City and International Media Production Zone - provide a complete value chain of specialized offerings that have created an established community hub for the media and content creation industries in the region.

Since inception, TECOM Investments has encouraged the development of knowledge sectors and its business partners through various industry clusters. Dubai Internet City, Dubai Knowledge Village, DuBiotech, Dubai Outsource Zone, Dubai International Academic City and ENPARK are the other free zones under the TECOM Investments umbrella.
