According to the July '09 report issued by Kuwait Directorate General for Civil Aviation's, Jazeera Airways had the largest number of aircraft movement in the month with 1834 take-offs and landings, overpassing the second largest carrier in aircraft movement by 4%.

Jazeera Airways Chairman Marwan Boodai said:
'Our great performance was the direct result of a network restructure earlier in the year and our continued commitment to growth despite market downturns. Today in less than 4 years, we operate a fleet of 10 aircraft flying to 29 destinations making us one of the fastest growing airlines in the Middle East. Further new deliveries will come as of next January and more new exciting destinations will be served. We are proud that one of every four passengers at Kuwait International Airport flies Jazeera Airways and would like to thank our valued guests for their confidence. We are poised for more expansion and a stronger drive to build growth at Kuwait Airport and the economy.'

Jazeera Airways CEO Stefan Pichler said: 'We were adamant in continuing our growth and moved in this direction despite the overall economy decline since last October as we firmly believe our superior affordable products provide the value for money in these markets. Today we see the on-ground results of this strategy with one in every four passengers at Kuwait Airport is a Jazeera Airways guest flying more people to great destinations at a time when other parts of the world are reducing.'

In its latest report issued in late August 09 for the July period, IATA said that global passenger demand in July '09 dropped by 2.9% compared to the same period of last year. However, IATA continued to say that July was a 'relative improvement over the 7.2% drop in June and the 6.8% decline recorded over the first seven months of the year'.

Jazeera Airways is listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange and operates a fleet of 10 Airbus A320s to destinations across the Middle East, Europe, Iran, North Africa, and the Indian Subcontinent. The airline has a firm order for 30 additional aircraft to be delivered over the coming years with the last fleet installment scheduled for delivery in 2014.
