Friendi takes 'slice of action' in Sohar

The city of Sohar's Safeer Mall is now the proud host of the first dedicated Friendi mobile kiosk in the Sohar region, as part of the brand's bid to spread the word outside of the Capital and across the Sultanate.

Friendi mobile marked the momentous occasion with a cake cutting ceremony attended by Friendi's Oman sales team, customers and dealers.

To celebrate the opening, all customers visiting the kiosk were given a Friendi mobile car sunshade and stylish Friendi mobile cap with the purchase of every Starter Pack, as a result, a record number of new SIM cards were activated on the day.

Mr. Randall Bernard, Sales Director of Friendi mobile, accompanied Mr Kailash of Safeer Mall at the cake cutting ceremony, which was also attended by neighbouring retailers and Safeer Mall management.

The Sohar opening brings the total number of Friendi mobile outlets, including independent distributors and dealers, to almost 1000, making it the fastest growing mobile telecommunications brand in Oman.

Antti Arponen, CEO of Friendi mobile, said:
"Outside of Muscat, Sohar is our most important market in terms of size and target audience. The city's fast expansion and increasing number of expatriate workers means that Friendi mobile has a lot to offer the residents of Sohar with our reduced international call rates and competitive local tariffs."

With some of the cheapest overseas call rates on the market, Friendi mobile has taken Oman's expatriate community by storm. The resulting high demand for Friendi mobile Starter Packs and recharge cards has led to a rapid increase in the number of dealers across the Sultanate.

The opening of the Sohar kiosk coincides with Friendi mobile's Ramadan celebrations announced last week. Running until September 30th, Friendi mobile customers who purchase a Starter Pack will be entered into a daily draw to win one of 30 flight tickets to worldwide destinations.

Furthermore, new subscribers will get their purchase price back in credit to use for Calls and SMSs both locally and internationally. New customers will also receive a further 200 free SMS's to be used locally which will be credited as soon as the SIM card is activated.

For existing customers this Ramadan, Friendi mobile is also giving bonus credits of 10% and 20% on its recharge cards.
