Emarat key sponsor for Dubai Cares campaign 'Thirst for Education'

Emirates General Petroleum Corporation "Emarat" is one of the key sponsors for the "Thirst for Knowledge" campaign launched by the Dubai Cares Initiative and aims at providing fresh drinking water for school students in developing countries.

The campaign aims at fulfilling its goals by digging wells in the schools. Statistics show that almost 443 school days are lost by children annually because of polluted water,

Dr. Rahma Bin Mohammed Al Shamsi, Retail Sales Manager, at Emarat, said that he hopes that this sponsorship, and the contributions made by other companies, establishments, and individuals, will help support this humane initiative and make life a bit easier for the children at schools, which will in turn provide them with better futures.

He also said that the goals of Dubai Cares Initiative are synchronized with the spirituality of the Holy month of Ramadan, during which charity work prevails. This helping hand has been a characteristic of Dubai along its history, as it has always celebrated the holy month with a number of initiatives and events that aim to spread good intentions and serve Islam and humanity all over the world.

He further added that anybody who wishes to donate money towards the Thirst for Education campaign can visit any of the Emarat service stations, in Dubai, Sharjah and northern Emirates and donate the amount inside the c-store. The minimum amount for Donating is Dhs5 which will undoubtedly help in supporting the campaign and its humane goals which are aimed at making a positive difference in the lives of millions of children around the world.
