As part of the sponsorship the selected students will receive laptops and free bus transportation services for an entire academic year.

Wasl's initiative reiterates the importance of investment in education to ensure the sustained development of the country. It also reflects Wasl's corporate philosophy that prioritises the capacity building of individuals in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Zainab Al Balooshi, General Manager, Property Management and Marketing Department, Wasl said:
'As a responsible corporate citizen, Wasl reiterates its commitment to UAE nationals and particularly recognizes women's role in helping build and shape our society through education. We will continue to support similar initiatives that fall in line with the government vision which aims at contributing to the overall progress of the UAE community. This initiative reflects the emphasis we place on creating an environment that facilities education for women.'

Dr. Howard Reed, Director of Dubai Women's College, said that educating young professionals for roles into a complex and rapidly changing world is a large and expensive challenge. "We are fortunate to have partners like Wasl who realize that the future depends on the quality of our young people. We need more companies to come forward to help build a society where women are given equal opportunities for developing their knowledge and skill. This is in line with Dubai's vision to shape the UAE into a sound knowledge-based society."

A leading asset management company, Wasl has widened the scope of its Corporate Social Responsibility agenda by supporting education through key initiatives and activities throughout this year. It recently instituted 10 scholarships for UAE nationals to obtain graduate and post graduate studies in various faculties at the American University in Dubai.

It is worth mentioning that, DWC has been an HCT flagship institution for over 20 years providing world-class education for women in the UAE. With a mission supported by the ELITE principles: Excellence, Leadership, Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship, DWC has been recognized as being at the pinnacle of higher education in UAE.
