Claiden has enjoyed an impressive career at OBG, successfully taking on key tasks in research and production within the Group's field operations around the globe. Most recently, she managed the production of The Report: Bahrain 2009, OBG's latest report on the Kingdom's economy, which is widely recognised as the most comprehensive English language report on Bahrain's investment and business opportunities ever published.
Her time in Bahrain has allowed Claiden to witness firsthand the changes that are taking place there as the Kingdom's plans to diversify its economy gather pace.
"With the reforms and developments gaining momentum, it is evident that Bahrain's continued strategy of shifting the emphasis away from hydrocarbons has further opened the door for foreign investors,"
she said.
"Bahrain is seeing the rewards of diversification and I look forward to being here as this process continues and documenting it for potential investors."
Elizabeth Boissevain, OBG's Director of Field Operations, said that Claiden's reappointment would allow her to consolidate her position as an authority on Bahrain's business and economic activities.
"Suzanne has a sound knowledge of international current affairs, politics and economics thanks to the wealth of experience she has gained in OBG's projects around the globe," she said.
"She has directed projects across four continents, which is no mean feat. These assets mean she will continue to bring both experience and skills to this key role."
Claiden, who is of Spanish and English descent, spent most of her life in Spain until completing her studies in Economics at the Complutense University of Madrid. She then moved to the UK, where she embarked on her career of gathering and compiling business intelligence. She describes travelling and experiencing new cultures as two of her passions.
The Report: Bahrain 2009 is a vital guide to the many facets of the country, including its macroeconomics, infrastructure, political landscape, banking and sectoral developments. Written by a team of seasoned analysts from OBG who are based on the ground for six months, it is the premier guide for foreign direct investment into Bahrain's economy. Available in print form and online, The Report: Bahrain 2009 includes interviews with leading political and economic figures.
