Adding variety to the mix, Alpha (Jordan) has recently opened a casual dining restaurant in Terminal 2 with ala carte' table service - a first of its kind at QAIA.
The new eatery, dubbed the Brasserie, is a welcome addition for travelers and staff, alike. Starbucks, Pizza Hut, World News Café and Blue Fig Café maintain their presence at QAIA to round out the selection of F&B options.
Mr. Curtis Grad, Chief Executive Officer at Airport International Group said:
"AIG is very encouraged with the depth and quality of Jordanian bidders in the proposal calls launched, to date. In fact, the vast majority of concessions have been awarded to Jordanian brands and/or franchisees."
Grad also advised that within the next few weeks, airport users and staff will experience a broader range of service offerings including two new Aramex newsstands, a new Rawhi pharmacy and new branch bank services by Societe' Generale.
Grad added" "competitive processes were initiated for a broad range of business opportunities at QAIA ensuring that all interested parties, incumbents and new entrants alike, were given the opportunity to participate in fair and objective competition, with concession opportunities awarded based on strength of industry experience, creativity and innovation, as well as commercial return and viability. The recently launched proposal calls for Valet Parking, Meet and Assist, and Distinguished Visitors Lounge (DVL) services will add further dimension and diversity of services at QAIA."
The rehabilitation and expansion works at QAIA are well underway with the new passenger terminal extending over 85,000 square meters.
AIG, under the terms of a 25 year concession agreement with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, is responsible for the operation of the airport, the rehabilitation of existing facilities and the construction of the new terminal.
