True to Maserati's commitment to introduce a new model at each international car show, the GranTurismo S Automatic recently premiered at the Geneva Auto Show drawing great reviews from visitors and experts. The new Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic features a 4.7 V8 engine which develops 440 HP (323kW) at 7000 rpm. The maximum torque is 490Nm at 4.750 rpm.

Consistently with the unmistakable design of all Maseratis, the Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic features some discreet yet marked stylistic changes which make it immediately recognizable: the new under-door mini-skirts featuring a prominent shape, which enhances the dynamism of its profile and the new 20" wheel rims (standard) with the brand new "Trident" design featuring spokes that distinctly reflect the Trident shape to create a mix of strength and elegance.

The GranTurismo S Automatic follows the launch of the Maserati GranTurismo and the GranTurismo S in 2007.

Mr. Mohammed Kandeel, General Manager of Alfardan Sports Motors Company said:

"It is true and undeniable that the current global financial crisis had a massive negative impact on the automotive industry; however, the prevailing economic situation has put to test the ability and the performance of many businesses, few of which were able to demonstrate a solid and a sustained success pattern. Given its longstanding heritage and expertise, Maserati has been capable to maintain a remarkable flow of business innovation through its product line introducing new models and breaking sales records across the globe year on year. The arrival of the Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic is a testament to that."

The principal content is the combination of the automatic transmission with the most powerful wet sump Maserati V8 on the GranTurismo — until now offered as 4.2 l with automatic transmission and 4.7 l with an electro-actuated gearbox. Thanks to the combination of the 440 HP (323kW) produced by the powerful 4.7 l V8 engine and the smoothness of the ZF 6-speed automatic gearbox, the Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic stresses the original GranTurismo concept while at the same time offering peak performance.

The Skyhook suspension system featuring continuously adjustable dampers provides great driving comfort. Passive safety is further enhanced thanks to the introduction on the GranTurismo range of a new generation of passenger air-bag with Low Risk Deployment functionality.

A further enriched equipment increases the on board pleasure for the driver and the passengers, thanks to the Bluetooth Technology, offered as standard, and the Ipod interface, available upon request, which complete the Maserati Multi Media System.

The GranTurismo S Automatic boasts a steel bearing monocoque body with box-section panels and a structure constructed in sheet galvanized on both sides; it is a two-door coupé with four seats and a longitudinal centre-front engine with a rear wheel drive.

The car's safety performance conforms to "worldwide" regulations while integrating various design technologies for weight and performance optimization such as steel structural part, aluminum bonnet, bumper front reinforcement cross member and a boot lid in thermosetting composite material.

Derived from the Quattroporte structure, The GranTurismo S Automatic provides a reduced wheelbase, a dual-circuit Brembo brake system and rear overhang designed to satisfy the most stringent American crash standards.

Maserati has implemented a development plan for the next 5 years designed to reduce consumption and CO2 emissions, and to protect the environment. The designs of recent models have already led to considerable fuel savings. Maserati also uses environmentally-friendly, easily recyclable materials made from natural substances, especially for the parts of the interior, which are most in contact with the driver and passengers (natural textile fibers, wood and leather).

Maserati cars are mindful of the "design for recycling" concept, which is centered on making cars easy to dismantle at the end of their lives, so that materials can be identified and separated for re-use.

By all degrees, Maserati's 2008 was the most successful year to date. Despite the poor general economic situation and deep crisis that has struck the automotive industry since the beginning of the year, 2008 was for Maserati the second consecutive record year. Deliveries to the final customers have totaled almost 8,586 units, which is the all-time best result, with an increase of almost 17% over 2007. What is more, Maserati's sales were up in all markets across the world.

About Maserati
Maserati is today a commercial reality in 57 countries in five continents with an overall network of 281 dealerships, an impressive further growth if one compares these figures with the reality of 1998, when Maserati was present in only 17 markets, through 142 dealerships.

Maserati - Stunning beauty of forms and shapes combined with advanced technological solutions

All Maserati Quattroportes share with the rest of the Maserati current range the front-mid-engine Transaxle drive system with robotized shifting, in which the gearbox is positioned at the rear of the car in a single unit with the differential for an optimum weight distribution between the front and rear axle (53% and 47%) that make possible enhanced traction and acceleration for a more stable and balanced performance in all conditions. And it is worthwhile to remember that Maserati is the only Make in the world today to offer the Transaxle solution on its entire line-up.

All models in the Maserati range also share the Officine Alfieri Maserati customisation program, a feature in craftsmanship that allows Maserati clients to tailor-make their Maseratis to their own taste by choosing, almost to the smallest detail, specifications for their cars by the millions in terms of combinations. According to his or her personal preference, Maserati customers will have a chance to choose the exterior paintwork, the shades of leather for the interiors, the color of the dashboard, steering wheel, stitching, roof lining, mats, different quality of woods, comfort features for front and rear seats, electric sun roof, GSM telephone, rear seat entertainment system, calliper color, heated seats, satellite navigation system - in addition to a vast catalogue of travel and leisure accessories.

Maserati Gransport MC Victory: A Geneva world premiere and a tribute to Maserati's success in motorsports

Maserati's success is not only spelled out by the Maserati Quattroporte as the Maserati GranSport continues to achieve significant sales results. Making its world debut in Geneva is the Maserati GranSport MC Victory, a limited edition model of only 180 units and a deserved tribute to Maserati's success in motor sports - the name intends to celebrate the greatest achievement of Maserati's 2005 motor sports season: the victory of the FIA GT Manufacturers' Cup - and the expression of Maserati's commitment to sportiness.

On each side, the Maserati GranSport MC Victory has a small enamelled Italian Flag, similar to the one worn in official races by the Maserati MC12 driven by professionals like Michael Bartels, Andrea Bertolini, Timo Scheider, Eric van de Poele and Karl Wendlinger. The front splitter of the Maserati GranSport MC Victory was redesigned to guarantee more air load at high speeds with the addition of the two lateral aerodynamic profiles and a bigger protrusion. The sporty look is clearly expressed by the extensive utilisation of blue carbon fibre for the front and rear bumpers and for the interiors, where the typical elegance and color matching of all Maseratis is stressed by a selection of leathers and Alcantara trim on the upper dashboard, the door panels, in the central part of the racing carbon seats to emphasize the sporty look and on the steering wheel for grip.

The blue carbon fibre matches the Blue Victory body, a new color inspired by the blue livery of the Maserati MC12 at the world preview of the car, at the 2004 edition of the Geneva Auto Show. The Maserati GranSport MC Victory boasts the most powerful version of the Maserati 4.2 litre V8 engine, a power unit that punches out 400 HP and a maximum torque of 452 nm for a top speed of 290 km/h at 7,550 rpm. Each Maserati GranSport MC Victory is made unique by a 1-to-180 individually numbered badge with celebration logo.

Maserati Gransport Spyder - One of the fastest open cars on the planet.

The Maserati GranSport Spyder maintains every ounce of the aggressiveness and temperament of the Maserati GranSport Coupe, stressed by a 10 mm. lowered set up, a very pronounced front lower spoiler and side bars elegantly integrated into the body - all resulting in improved aerodynamic performance.

Nineteen-inch alloy wheels of the same design as those used in the Maserati Trofeo Championship series coupled to specially produced tires add to the very athletic look of the car. The 400 HP V8 4.2 litre engine makes the Maserati GranSport Spyder, at 285 km/h, one of the fastest open-air cars on the planet. Thanks to new specific software, the GranSport Spyder offers even faster gear changing, on average 35% faster than its predecessor.

The design and materials of the interior are a mix of leather, high-tech fabric and the most use of Carbon fibre in the class. The upper part of the dashboard is trimmed in leather, while the central area, framed by the piping, is trimmed in BrighTex, the same high tech fabric of the racing MC12.

First introduced in Frankfurt, the Maserati GranSport Spyder will go on sales across Europe in March 2006.
