Ahlia University announces training alliance with Tamkeen's Career Progression Programme

As part of its continuous development programme, Ahlia University recently signed an agreement with BDO Jawad Habib Consulting to benefit from Tamkeen's Career Progression Programme.

The agreement was signed at Ahlia University in Manama by Dr Abdulla Y. Al-Hawaj, President of Ahlia University and Dr. Ehsan Ghurbal, Director of CPP at BDO-JH.

Commenting on this alliance, Dr Ghurbal, said:
"We live in a constantly evolving world. To ensure competitiveness in this global economy and harness more growth and benefits, development of workforce skills and knowledge is critical. We are very pleased to hear from employers like, Ahlia University, who are committed to their employees' development."

"It is a step in the right direction towards the career development of the Bahraini workforce. We urge other educational institutions and companies in other sectors to follow the step of Ahlia University to benefit for this great opportunity to Bahrainis," Dr. Ghurbal went on to say.

Professor Al Hawaj said, "We started in 2001 with 5 employees. Eight years later, today we have more than 150 employees. Employees' development is crucial for the growth and prosperity of any business as employees are one of the determining factors for an organisation's success. Leaders understand the importance of providing employees with opportunities to grow personally and professionally and its long term benefits."

He further added, "Like many businesses, we have a clear understanding of where improvements are needed. However, sometimes it's difficult to take an objective look at setting priorities, especially when you're in the middle of all the activity. Addressing priorities and root causes are not easy tasks, sometimes outside help is beneficial. As educationalists, we wholeheartedly support the CPP and commend Tamkeen and BDO Jawad Habib on their clarity of vision. Our belief in this unique and remarkable initiative is our contribution to the nation's 2030 vision and the Bahraini workforce."

Created and funded by Tamkeen, the CPP is committed to enhance skills and improve the overall prosperity of the Bahraini workforce in the private sector. The project is implemented and managed by BDO Jawad Habib, one of the leading Consulting firms in the Kingdom.

The scheme aims at benefiting 6500 Bahraini employees. The nominated employees will be assessed and deployed to the appropriate training which will further enhance their productivity. In addition to the training and as an added bonus, the beneficiaries will receive a raise in their basic pay upon successful completion of the programme.

In order to ensure quantifiable results, these training programmes will be determined jointly by BDO Jawad Habib consultants and the employer after completing a Training Needs Analysis process.
