Building on the events success in 2002, IIR says 80% of exhibition space has already been contracted for Cityscape 2003, which will be held at the Grand Hyatt Dubai Conference Centre from October 18-20.

The exhibition and conference will map out a blueprint for the future of Middle East cities by bringing together the worlds leading architects, international and regional property investment and development experts and urban planners.

'Cityscape 2003 is a platform to influence and network with leading developers, key organisations and governmental authorities who are involved in the design and construction of major public and private property projects,' said Neil Hickman, Cityscape Project Manager, IIR. Cityscape/2

'This annual exhibition and conference is unique in the Middle East. There is no other event that combines an exhibition and conference in the same venue, where leading and influential investors find a one stop shop for their property investment and development requirements to take the design and facilitation of buildings from concept to reality.

'It will act as a forum for the discussion of best practice and new and innovative construction techniques, as well as a vehicle to educate and develop individuals within the industry,' said Hickman.

Among those already contracted are Al Oula Real Estate, RIKAZ, Atkins, Fusion, Tabreed, Convrgnt Value Engineering, Core Architects, Cassia Associates, KEO International, Philips Lighting, Ian Banham & Associates, Hyder Consulting, Behnisch Behnisch & Partner; RMJM Architects and Consulting Engineers, Dewan Architecture, The PHB Group, Amlaki and Aqar Holdings.

'Cityscape 2003 is poised to become the worlds leading industry event, bringing together everyone under one roof so they can build new relationships and rethink how they do construction to meet the challenges ahead,' said Hickman.

'The exhibition and conference will facilitate the exchange of views on critical issues relevant to the industry today, such as the potential of new projects, project feasibility and financing mechanisms for development.

'Discussion will also focus on the importance of creating an ideal environment for the long-term goal of attracting international property investors to the region and delivering sustainable solutions for decades to come,' added Hickman.

Cityscape 2003 is officially supported by the Dubai Development and Investment Authority (DDIA).
