Brand Dubai's Twitter channel will regularly update news and information on Dubai with a view to globally disseminate real time news of developments in the emirate.

Mona Ghanim Al Marri, CEO, Brand Dubai, said:
"This will serve us as a valuable vehicle for the dissemination of the key messages and the vision that drive the growth of Dubai. We will update developments on a regular and comprehensive fashion."

"Our Twitter channel will foster an interactive relationship between Brand Dubai and our diverse audiences, giving them an opportunity to engage Dubai on pertinent topics," she pointed out.

Underlining the role of the New Media in keeping news and information up to date in real time, Al Marri said Facebook and Twitter were among the most important social networking platforms by virtue of their popularity, particularly among the youth.

"Mobile devices now provide easy access to both sites, and contribute to the creation of a new framework where news dissemination can be effectively complemented by audio and video footages," she added.

Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author's profile page and delivered to the author's subscribers who are known as followers.
