As part of its special activities for Ramadan, the CSR department at DMI has launched a competition for employees to memorize the 'Sourat Yassin' (Chapter of Yassin) from the Holy Quran. Employees who successfully recite the entire chapter will be honored at a special ceremony to be held after Ramadan.
A dedicated stand at the DMI headquarters has been installed in cooperation with the Emirati Red Crescent to facilitate donations by employees for charity.
The CSR department has also placed a donation box for used clothes that can be offered to humanitarian organizations in the UAE. In addition, a special Arabic-style multilingual library has been set up with booklets and leaflets of religious significance in several languages for the benefit of the employees and visitors.
Mariam Al Murr Bin Hareiz, CSR Manager, DMI, said:
"We have remained committed to maintaining the spirit of Ramadan every year and actively encourage our employees to contribute to humanitarian and charitable causes. This year, we have taken measures to facilitate even greater participation by our employees for social and community support activities, in addition to launching the competition to memorize parts of the Holy Quran. The multi-lingual library at DMI's headquarters strongly reflects our keenness to work towards increasing awareness among the public on the importance of Ramadan."
In its capacity as the main sponsor in the Dubai International Holy Quran Awards, DMI's CSR department is additionally offering gifts to the audience through a raffle draw and serving Sohour meals daily. The CSR department has also pledged to present a trophy and a valuable gift for 'Highest Speed' to the winner of each round at the Marmoom Ramadan Camel Festival.
Launched earlier this year, DMI's CSR department has planned a series of activities that ensure the organization's constant involvement in community related causes and mobilize the active engagement of all members of the society. A charity exhibition for children with special needs featured as one of the CSR department's pilot projects that has been followed up with regular visits to charity centres and old age homes.
