Visa unveils plans for FIFA U-20 World Cup Egypt 2009

Visa, FIFA's exclusive financial services partner, today held a press conference to discuss Visa's partnership with FIFA and Visa's activities surrounding the FIFA U-20 World Cup, scheduled to kick off on September 24.

The highlight of the press conference was the unveiling of the FIFA U-20 World Cup trophy and a photo session for event attendees.

Speakers at the press conference included Tarek Elhousseiny, Visa's General Manager for North and West Africa, as well as Dan Griffin, Head of Sponsorship for Visa CEMEA (Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa). Mr. Elhousseiny provided an overview about how Visa is promoting its association with the FIFA U20 World Cup Egypt 2009, including the Visa Penalty Kick Off Tournament as well as the FIFA U20 World Cup Trophy Exhibition at several local sporting clubs in Cairo.

Mr. Elhousseiny said:
"To enhance fans' enjoyment of the FIFA U20 World Cup Egypt 2009, Visa is running a Swipe & Win campaign offering cardholders the chance to win tickets to the matches and exclusive Go Football Experiences including tours of the stadia and pitches, personal photographs on the pitches, and watching the pre-match warm-ups from the sidelines."


Mr. Griffin discussed Visa's partnership with FIFA on a global scale and how Visa's sponsorship offers a platform to grow its business: "The FIFA partnership links Visa, the world's leading payment brand, and football, the world's most passionately followed sport, in a unique relationship that delivers tangible business for our shareholders, financial institution clients, their cardholders and the merchant community."

Following the press conference, attendees had the opportunity to have their photos taken with FIFA U-20 World Cup Trophy.
