The Qatar Exchange's (QE) main gauge, the DSM20-Index, gained 0.43%, closing at 7,129.12. Real estate heavyweight United Development Co. (UDC) closed 5.74% higher at QR42.50 after the builder of the artificially constructed island The Pearl Qatar released a statement to the QE that it will establish a fully owned subsidiary with a capital of QR10m. UDS's new subsidiary aims to gain market shares in the fields of insurance brokerage and risk management services.
