The positions are available in over 20 locations across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas and represent the latest step in the firm's growing investment in campus hires, which has doubled year-on-year.

This challenging programme runs over three years and enables candidates to discover the range of exciting professional opportunities in the growing wealth management industry. It is structured to ensure that graduates accumulate the experience and tools required for a role with one of the world's leading wealth managers. It includes client handling and advisory skills and an international rotation, as well as all the necessary support to achieve industry qualifications, such as Chartered Financial Analyst.

Since the programme's inception in 2006, we have seen a five-fold increase in applications and we expect this to double again next year. We firmly believe that Barclays Wealth can differentiate itself through the level of training that it requires its graduates to undergo.

"The wealth management industry faces a talent shortage and one of the ways in which we are looking to resolve this is from the bottom up. At a time when some companies are closing their graduate training schemes, we remain committed to offering bright and motivated candidates from across the globe the opportunity to join the Barclays Wealth Graduate Programme. We believe that it is essential to continue investing today to transform the next generation of high performers into true fiduciary investment advisors, who will help us achieve our ambitious plans for the future,"

commented Phil Smith, Global Head of Human Resources at Barclays Wealth.
