EMC appoints Magued Mahmoud as General Manager of Egypt Center of Excellence

A 21- year veteran of the IT industry, Mahmoud will be responsible for establishing and leading the Egyptian center as it delivers innovative solutions and services to EMC customers.

He will report to Sarv Saravanan, EMC Vice President and General Manager, who also manages EMC's Indian Center of Excellence.

"Magued brings extensive industry experience and superior knowledge of the Middle East and Africa markets. With his leadership, the Egypt Center of Excellence will advance EMC's globalization goals by serving our customers in the Middle East and Africa region and beyond,"

said Saravanan.

"We are glad to have Magued on board. With his experience, he will bring great value to the EMC Center of Excellence in Egypt. Our positive business experience in Egypt since 2000, has led us to expand our presence in the country and to open our Center of Excellence with a view to more closely serving our customers' specific business requirements," added Mohammed Amin, EMC's Regional Manager for Turkey, Middle East and North West Africa.

Magued most recently served as the head of Oracle's Solution Services International Consulting Center, where he was responsible for the delivery of consulting services to global customers.

As part of his services delivery responsibility, he was a member of steering committees for many large and strategic IT projects in the Middle East and Africa region.

Before his 11 year-stint at Oracle Corporation in Egypt, Magued was with IBM for ten years where he held various IT roles catering to the Middle East markets. Over the course of his career, Magued has developed expertise in sales, support and consulting services, delivering business IT solutions in various verticals such as manufacturing, telecom, energy, public sector and financial services.

Magued earned a degree in engineering studies from Ain Shams University in Cairo and a diploma in 'Managing IT Software and Services Strategically' from the Scandinavian International Management Institute in Copenhagen.
