A milestone for Avaya and business communications broadly, Avaya Aura goes beyond existing telephony and data communications networks and introduces a platform that unifies all forms of communication (voice, messaging, e-mail, voice mail, and more). across multi-vendor, multi-location businesses, making it ideal for the IT-heterogeneous and distributed environments of many regional organizations. GulfComms takes place alongside Gitex from October 18- 22.

According to a regional research conducted by Avaya, demand for UC solutions in the region has increased with more than half of respondents saying they are considering deploying UC. The need for technologies that increase productivity has become evident, as 62% of those surveyed said they miss more than 20 important customer calls a week and a staggering 32% of these miss over 40 important calls a week, due to lack of proper access to corporate communications.

Unified Communications enable employees to communicate via any device at any time. For example, employees can reply to email with speech, turn an Instant Message into a conference call and answer calls made to their desk phones from the airport. No matter how, where, or when they communicate, they'll have seamless access to the same familiar interfaces and corporate resources.

Roger El Tawil, Channel and Marketing Director for Avaya Mena, Turkey and Greece, explains:
"Avaya solutions speak the language of end-users and simplify their business communications. We continue to focus on the competitive advantages of unified communications with Aura, which is a cost-effective UC option for regional organizations in the current challenging climate. Businesses can leave existing multi-vendor equipment and applications in place and rapidly enjoy the benefits and simplicity of Avaya Aura's architecture to drive significant and immediate return on investment, without sacrificing any of the resiliency, security and performance that Avaya communications systems have always been known for."

Aura is the evolution of Avaya's open, reliable, and extensible IP communications platform. It packages new and existing functions, including Communication Manager, and enables SIP-based session management. Offering a unified communications architecture, Aura simplifies complex networks, reduces infrastructure costs, and connects employees at any location. It efficiently delivers voice, video, unified messaging, presence, web applications, mobile clients, and multimedia conferencing. Aura also provides core communication services that enable unified communications and contact center solutions to be deployed to connected endpoints regardless of the infrastructure that the endpoints reside on.

Avaya will also debut its new touch screen phone at Gitex 2009. Highly suited for the hospitality sector, the phone's high resolution touch screen interface, large variety of powerful applications, rich media content and full-motion video and fun and easy intuitive interface offers an engaging and interactive experience for users.

For SMB's Avaya offers Unified Communications to small business with Avaya IP Office. The newest release of IP Office combines advanced big business functionality with the ease of use and simplified management that small businesses require.

"Avaya has witnessed an increase in attendance at our stand and interest from customers and visitors, year-on-year. Last year, we received positive feedback on the solutions we showcased, and the real life experiences we extended to our visitors. This year, we aim to echo that experience and fortify our current relationships, while establishing alliances and new business partners," said El Tawil.

Avaya's stand is located in the GulfComms' Zabeel Hall number Z-D10, as well as the e-Government Hall, stand no G9-50.
