Mr. Peyman Younes Parham, Director of RTA's Marketing and Corporate Communication confirmed that these figures represent an impressive number, reflecting the size of a rush to commute by the Dubai Metro. "We are proud that this was achieved in one day only. It is evidence that the public transport is thriving through the latest and best mass transit of Dubai (My City My Metro) to implement RTA's vision of "Safe and Smooth Transport for all."

He pointed to a simple technical default representing that of the gates had not opened for a very short time and was soon fixed by the Control Operations Center. "It was sorted out only in five minutes."

Parham said that there are some tips and pieces of advice to be preferably followed by the Metro & stations users for the safety of everyone including the compliance with the safety guidelines in utilizing the metro and stations. In addition, the riders should also listen to the instructions provided by the stations staff at peak hours to avoid the human congestions on embarkation and disembarkation of passengers or when changing the service hours and making sure to recharge the cards in case of varied trips.

"Along with these guidelines, there are some tips for users of the metro that include planning the journey in advance, connecting and integrating trips with other public transport modes. The users are also advised to get their cards charged to avoid standing for a long time to recharge, especially at peak hours," he continued.
