Dell: Test report - PowerEdge R710
- Middle East: Tuesday, September 15 - 2009 at 14:15
Dell commissioned Principled Technologies to measure the SPECjbb2005 performance of similar Intel Xeon Processor 5500 series based dual-socket, quad-core servers for the purpose of demonstrating real-world performance and price differences. It compared the following two servers - Dell PowerEdge R710 and HP ProLiant DL380 G6.
The performance/price metric takes the SPECjbb2005 result in business operations per second (BOPS) and divides that number by the cost of the server. Higher performance/price scores, indicating more cost-effective servers, are better.
