The selection of Mecca Street came after studies which revealed the need for a pedestrian bridge in this street as well as partitions and warning signs to reduce the high rate of traffic accidents and increase safety on roads.

Mr. Nadim Haddad, Marketing Manager at Al-Markazia, said:
"The opening of this pedestrian bridge is part of the social responsibility we endorse in our company strategy. We are aware that safety on roads is one of the most important issues currently affecting our society, and for this, we must play a key role in promoting the principles of traffic culture."

The Central Trade and Auto Co - Al-Markazia, organizes many activities on safety and traffic awareness like the recently concluded "Anta Muraqab" campaign, a traffic awareness campaign in the Kingdom launched by Al-Markazia in corporation with the Public Security Directorate, Jordan Traffic Institute and Greater Amman Municipality in April 2009.
