- PRESS RELEASE
Inline with the directions of His Majesty King Abdullah II during His Majesty's recent visit to Marka province, and in correspondence of the Greater Amman Municipality's notices to the Council of Ministers, the government recently decided to exempt residents of the housing complexes of Marka and Al-Hashimi from the sales tax and registration fees, owed on the transfer of ownership of housing projects built in the two areas to them.
It is worth mentioning that GAM has previously addressed the Council of Ministers about the issue, according to a letter issued by the Advisor at the Royal Court, head of the follow-up committee of the King's initiatives, Yusuf Al-'Eisawi, which includes the demands and needs raised by citizens in Marka province, during the King's visit at the end of 2008.
The exemptions include 1800 residential apartments located in Marka Housing Project (piece of land No. 706), and Al-Hashimi Housing Project (piece of land 4410).
