2010 Chevrolet Malibu arrives in Middle East showrooms this October

  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, September 16 - 2009 at 14:45
  • PRESS RELEASE

Chevrolet Malibu will be available for sale in showrooms across the Middle East starting this October.

Modern-minded families can look forward to a feature-packed sedan that combines bold, modern styling with a luxurious feeling interior and unmatched safety features. With a proven track record in other markets, the Malibu has redefined excellent value.

"The Malibu is unbeatable among its peers in every sense with gorgeous modern styling, features that spoil, and unmatched safety and value. It's one of those rare cars you'll fall in love with from the first time you sit in it,"

said Nadia Larhouati, Marketing Manager - Chevrolet Cars in the Middle East.

The modern styling, complemented by a bold stance with standard 18' wheels, gives Malibu's exterior a hard-to-miss appearance. The exterior's clean, pure lines lead to the signature dual-port front grille with chrome surround, which is elegantly buttoned up with Chevrolet's distinguished bowtie.

The interior's attention to detail matches the Malibu's expressive exterior, and that of luxury sedans. The high quality and spacious interior is available in two-tone colour schemes, incorporating fine materials and stitching.

It is all tied together with a harmonious design that flows from the centre console up through the dashboard and across the doors, defining Chevrolet's signature dual cockpit.

The smooth ride is made even more comfortable by a cabin that's been engineered to be a cocoon of quietness. This was achieved with noise reducing features including an acoustic windshield, acoustic wheelhouse liners, and noise attenuating materials on the console wall.

The Malibu is also the safest mid-size vehicle, owing to its five-star crash test safety rating (the highest possible), six airbags, high strength steel safety cage and ISOFIX child seat anchors in all three rear seating positions.

The Malibu also provides unmatched value for money in the midsize sedan segment with a fuel efficiency of 7.1L / 100 km on the highway.

Its acclaimed ECOTEC 2.4L 4-cylinder VVT engine generates 191hp at 6,400 rpm (gross) and 257Nm at 4,400 (gross). The High Feature 3.6L V-6VVT engine sprints to 278hp at 6,400rpm and 360Nm at 2800rpm (gross).

In a rare move for the segment, both engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control.
