With Huawei's cutting-edge technologies, millions of local consumers will be able to enjoy the best-class mobile broadband experience.

Huawei's industry-leading fourth-generation base station allows STC to smoothly and quickly upgrade its existing network to HSPA+ only via software upgrade. This HSPA+ network will provide higher downlink data rate of up to 21.6Mb/s to STC's subscribers. It is believed that this network which covers all Saudi Arabia's harbors in Gulf area will greatly improve the efficiency of information flow and promote the sustainable development of local community.

He Gang, President of GSM&UMTS Product Line, Huawei, says:
"Huawei has been working with operators to smoothly and swiftly upgrade various and complex mobile networks worldwide, helping our customers take the lead in both technologies and low total cost of ownership (TCO). Our customers' success demonstrates Huawei's industry-leading technologies and excellent end-to-end capabilities."

As of the first half of 2009, Huawei has been awarded more than 150 UMTS/HSPA commercial contracts in over 100 countries, with a total shipment of more than 1.1million TRXs. Meanwhile, Huawei has successfully deployed over 10 commercial HSPA+ networks for major operators across Asia and Europe.
