Du celebrates Eid Al Fitr with a special offer for mobile customers

In celebration of Eid Al Fitr, that marks the end of Ramadan, Du is offering its family of mobile customers an array of special offers.

Customers will be able to make calls at off-peak rates to all international destinations throughout the three-days of Eid Al Fitr, giving them the flexibility to reach out to their loved ones anywhere in the world with a personal call.

In addition, Du is providing excellent discounts on all its SMS rates: during the 3 days of Eid Al Fitr, national and international SMS rates will decrease. To round out its Eid Al Fitr greeting, Du will be offering free-to-download multi-media holiday greetings on the MyWorld mobile portal. Du landline customers continue to benefit from all-day off-peak rates as usual.

"We want to let UAE residents get in touch with loved ones at this joyous time of the year, so we're reducing the cost of both national and international SMS, as well as offering all-day off-peak rates for all calls to all international destinations."


Added Faraidooni, "In addition to this, our customers travelling abroad can take advantage of One World, One Rate tariff and pay a flat rate per minute for incoming calls while roaming to several international destinations."

All Du postpaid customers who have activated roaming service will get this benefit while prepaid customers can also enjoy the benefits of One World, One Rate tariff. Plus, we've added a collection of free-to-download multi-media greetings to the MyWorld mobile portal for customers to enjoy. We wish all our customers across the UAE a heartfelt Eid Mubarak.

During Eid Al Fitr, Muslims celebrate Allah's acceptance of their prayers and fasting over Ramadan. Many Muslims celebrate this important holiday by wearing new clothes and visiting their friends and families. This Eid, Du customers can also donate Eid clothing to needy people through SMS by sending EID to 8025.

Du's Ramadan initiatives


Du's recent initiatives include an array of special Ramadan offers, including 1 fils credit for every second of international calls made between 21:00 and 07:00 during Ramadan; a 'double your talk-time' offer for Pay as you Go customers; and exclusive Islamic content for mobility customers available through a partnership with regional operator Al Majd. This content includes broadcasts of live Taraweeh prayers from Mecca, seasonal ringtones and caller tunes, customised anasheed, and daily prayer timings, hadeeth, dua'a and fatwa. Du is also sponsoring Iftar meals for the less fortunate and an 'SMS to Donate' campaign to facilitate charitable donations to various causes (text 'Ramadan' to short-code 8000 for a list of causes and corresponding short-codes). In addition, Du is currently promoting its exciting 'SMS Gold Challenge' trivia contest which gives mobile users the chance to win up to nine kilograms of gold.
