Last year's campaign saw Barclays support more than 15,000 orphans, low income families, single mothers and children with special needs in the UAE. This year, Barclays focused its efforts towards enriching the lives of orphans across the UAE through social integration and inclusion. Employees of Barclays interacted with around 180 children amidst a true spirit of compassion and giving.

"As part of our Community Investment program, Barclays expands its scope of activities for orphans every year through partnering with renowned organizations to be able to reach as many children as we can in the UAE. We believe that by engaging with these children we can contribute towards their growth and development and impact society positively, as youth are the future of any society. Helping these children especially at the Holy month of Ramadan reflects our ongoing commitment towards youth and respect for religious norms and local culture,"

said Michael Miebach, Managing Director for Barclays Middle East and North Africa, Global Retail and Commercial Banking.

Barclays had also organized a fundraising event earlier this year, to support the Beit Al Kheir Society's Orphans Educational Fund. The proceeds raised are being used to provide orphans with educational materials.

Barclays in partnership with the Red Crescent, also distributed 300 'Boxes of Goodness' containing essential food supplies to low income families across the UAE.
