According to the figures released by UOWD, a total of 1,064 students used the shuttle bus on the first five days since the service was launched. On the very first day - Thursday, September 10 -- 245 students had used the shuttle.

"We launched the shuttle service in support of RTA's campaign to encourage people to switch to the Metro,

said Mr. Raymi van der Spek, Vice President (Administration) at UOWD.

"We are overwhelmed by the response from our students and anticipate the numbers to go up considerably in the short term."

A UOWD branded bus picks up the students and staff, upon identification, from the MOE station. It operates every 30 minutes beginning 07:30 am from MOE, and runs until 03:30 pm, Sunday to Thursday, during the holy month of Ramadan. It will run until 05:30 pm after Eid Al Fitr. Pick-up and drop-off points at Dubai Knowledge Village are in front of Block 2B.
