Ramadaniat Al Qasba 2009 concludes with a record turnout of over 120,000 visitors

Al Qasba, the premiere tourist, cultural and entertainment destination in the emirate of Sharjah, announced the successful conclusion of 'Ramadaniat Al Qasba 2009', a series of religious and cultural activities inspired by the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan.

Officials at Al Qasba have revealed that a record of over 120,000 visitors enjoyed the various activities that were suitable for the whole family and attracted a wide variety of age groups and nationalities from all over the UAE.

The conclusion of the one-month event will witness the organization of a fireworks celebration on Monday, September 21st starting 10 pm onwards.

Commenting on the conclusion of 'Ramadaniat Al Qasba 2009', Hazem Al Sawaf, Marketing and Communication Director at Al Qasba Development Authority said:
"With all the efforts exerted to organize another successful edition of Ramadaniat Al Qasba, we are very pleased with the turnout and the visitors' feedbacks on the activities and promotions that were organized. The success was a result of hard work, blessed motivations and organized cooperation between Al Qasba and various governmental and private authorities and committees."


A number of extraordinary events were featured at Ramadaniat Al Qasba 2009. A major highlight was 'Al Eiman Oasis' tent that hosted 13 Islamic lectures by some of the top scholars in the region. Covering a variety of topics, the lectures were presented by elite of Islamic scholars in both languages, Arabic and English, and brightened the minds and souls of the visitors and enriched their knowledge about the holy Ramadan and Islam.

In terms of Islamic art, the "Cosmos Mosaic" event featured a series of 'Arabic Calligraphy' and 'Art of Illumination' workshops, organized in collaboration with the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information. Two of UAE's renowned calligraphers were present throughout the month educating people about the history of those arts and showcasing a variety of their exquisite drawings.

Ramadaniat Al Qasba also showed extensive support to charity as Al Qasba partnered with the UAE Red Crescent, Sharjah Charity International, and Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services to raise proceeds to those in need and to draw smiles and share the blessings of Ramadan with them.

Al Qasba restaurants also had their share in the activities and promotions held during the holy month. In addition to special Iftar and Suhoor menus, voucher prizes were given away for patrons of Fish Corner, Shababeek, Masala Craft, Stefano's, Nandos and Lemon Grass, which can be redeemed until the end of 2009.
