The MINI John Cooper Works Cabrio, a triumph in sports car engineering, performance and design, has made its market arrival in the Middle East.

This new edition to the MINI line up offers drivers a genuine racing feeling and outstanding performance above any vehicle in its class.

With its red hot heritage derived from the MINI John Cooper Works Challenge race car, the MINI John Cooper Works Cabrio adds another dimension to the popular MINI mix of performance and unique driving dynamics.

Maximum output from the newly developed four-cylinder power unit with twin-scroll turbocharger has been raised to an astonishing 211hp, with maximum torque of 280 Nm. The 1.6-litre four-cylinder power unit accelerates to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds reaching a top speed of 235 km/h.

With its sports car-inspired exterior and interior, the MINI John Cooper Works Cabrio offers enhanced comfort features and a variety of special equipment options. Choose from a wide variety of paintwork colours, interior trim options, seat upholstery, interior colours and trim variants. Add even more sporting flair with Flame Spoke light alloy rims, bonnet stripes and sports suspension as well as full leather interior and Comfort Access keyless entry/ignition for added dynamism.

Sarah Klippert, MINI Manager at BMW Group Middle East said: "Racing is in MINI's blood and the new MINI John Cooper Works Cabrio offers drivers an even sportier edge to driving a MINI Cabrio with more power, performance and agility. We have no doubt that the new MINI John Cooper Works Cabrio will be very popular car in the Middle East."

In line with its racing DNA, the MINI John Cooper Works Cabrio makes use of exclusive extra-light alloy wheels, extremely powerful brakes, a new exhaust system and a modified six-speed manual gearbox that comes straight from the MINI John Cooper Works Challenge race car.

A first in the segment, the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) comes as standard. With a sports button, the driver can activate a special gas pedal control map conceived for more dynamic performance and an even more direct response from the steering, guaranteeing the same enjoyable go-kart feeling MINI is renowned for.

In-car entertainment on the MINI John Cooper Works includes a 6.5-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) colour display with optional navigation system and an AUX port featured as standard to play music recorded on an MP3 player through the audio system. A special interface for complete integration of an Apple iPod is also available as an accessory, in addition to a Bluetooth interface and USB port.

The new MINI John Cooper Works Cabrio is now available from your local MINI Importer.
