BBC aims to boost presence in the region

BBC Worldwide, which recently increased its presence in the region by launching BBC Arabic, intends to enhance its broadcasting by producing more original content, according to Emirates Business. BBC will encourage local production houses and work hand-in-hand with privately-owned TV channels in the region. The broadcaster will particularly be encouraging environment-based programmes and may also look into financing individual productions or co-producing with them, according to BBC insiders.
