GateProtect to exhibit at Gitex 2009

  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, September 23 - 2009 at 12:20
  • PRESS RELEASE

GateProtect, a leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) appliances, will be participating at GITEX Technology Week in Dubai on 18-22 October with its own stand (Hall 1, Stand B1-20) for the first time.

The Germany-based security specialist is using the Middle East's premier IT trade show to showcase its solutions for small and midsized companies with 10 to 1000 users. In addition, GateProtect will take the opportunity to build up contacts with technically qualified reseller partners in the region. In the medium to long term, the company plans to extend sales of its appliances throughout Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council states via distribution and service agreements.

"With their high level of scalability and security functions used in the enterprise arena, GateProtect appliances are ideal for protecting fast-growing midsized companies," says Dennis Monner, CEO of GateProtect.

"Today, everyone's looking for ways to save money in the IT area. We're interested in doing business with technically proficient resellers, so that we can combine our efforts to win deals with our xUTM appliances that help customers economise on resources. We know that data protection is a particularly sensitive issue for Middle Eastern companies, as it is for all firms with a global presence. GateProtect has signed a voluntary commitment to manufacturing firewalls without any hidden mechanisms that could enable unauthorised third parties to access a computer system or deactivate its security functions. Companies buying German-made security products can rest assured that they won't contain any concealed backdoors,"

adds Dennis Monner.

Partner reference: Axeli from Morocco

Abdelali Laabi, CEO at the distributor Axeli in Morocco, says: "We win sales deals with two main arguments. First, GateProtect's xUTM firewalls are the only ones - in a global market of over 500 UTM providers - that have an easy to use console, the eGUI (ergonomic Graphic User Interface). This shows all the underlying security processes on a consistent graphical platform. Its intelligent design has been proven to help administrators complete time-consuming routine tasks up to 70 per cent faster. Customers are often impressed that the eGUI has received very good scores in several independent tests."

As a provider of IT and security services, Axeli benefits from the well-defined configuration steps within the GateProtect Command Center. Its engineers especially like the centralized administration functions, delivering a massive reduction in the time needed for complex tasks like license and patch updates, log consolidation, and the creation of certificate-based VPN-SSL connections.

Technical Support Excellence

GateProtect UTM appliances protect company networks from a wide range of security threats at the enterprise gateway level. Customers often give top marks to GateProtect's technical support. With a dedicated contact person, round-the-clock availability, and reaction times of less than two hours, GateProtect's support stands out from the crowd of impersonal service hotlines offered by other well-known providers.
