- PRESS RELEASE
According to the statistics revealed by RTA's Rail Agency, 64,206 passengers had used Dubai Metro on Saturday September 19, 2009 via 10 stations on the Red Line of the Metro.
Al Busmait added, "This large response to use the metro certainly indicates that the public transport culture among different social segments is growing, and this will definitely contribute to diminish the traffic jam and reduce the pollution due to the large number of private cars."
Al Busmait appealed to the public to abide by the safety and security rules at the stations and on board the trains, as they are here for the public own benefit. The "Musanada Team" (Support) formed by the Department are available at the metro stations to give hand and support to the public, and the team members would be characterized with carrying "Ask Me" tags.
