Salam Stores hosts exclusive launch of Motorola's Aura Celestial Edition

Salam Stores, the unique boutique department store experience that showcases top brands in fashion and technology, has today organised an exclusive launch of Motorola's Aura Celestial Edition, an elite edition of the ultimate luxury handset commemorating Motorola's role in history.

It was a Motorola radio transponder aboard Apollo 11 that relayed the first words and television signals from the Moon to Earth on July 20th, 1969, allowing over 500 million people to witness history in the making when man set his foot on the moon.

Keeping in mind an exclusive retail venue for this very special phone Salam Stores has become the exclusive retailers of the Celestial Edition Aura from Motorola. The exclusive launch at Salam Stores, organised for specially-invited VIP guests from across the Middle East, included a special presentation of Aura and Aura Celestial Edition on a plasma screen.

Mahmoud Sayed Ahmed, Motorola's Head of Branding for Middle East and Africa also did special one-on-one demonstrations for each invitee.

Adding to the spectacle of the launch was a special 4-dimesion art installation created exclusively by Salam's Regional Visual Merchandising Manager, Yasser Mubarak.

This one-of-it's kind-art work aptly matches the ingenuity of the new phone's technology by bringing an element of illusion, technology and creativity to visual communication. While this kind of art has been very popular in USA and Japan, this is the first time an Arab artist is bringing it to the Middle East.

The Motorola Aura Celestial Edition features exclusive, original NASA digital content from the Moon landing, the official video footage commemorating the event and the official NASA imagery from the Moon landing.

The first Aura Celestial Edition, received by legendary astronaut Neil Armstrong, also features sound files of such immortal lines as 'The Eagle has landed' and 'That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.'

The handset features a precision laser etched quote - "Motorola Aura Celestial Edition, Honoring the Apollo 11 mission, 20th July 1969." Nine limited edition lunar-inspired postcards are also included within an exquisite presentation box made in special wood and decoratively wrapped with velvet packaging.

"Coinciding with the advent of Eid, the exclusive Motorola Aura Celestial Edition is the perfect gift for the loved ones, given its distinctive luxury, artistry and historical significance. The launch reflects the appeal for such timeless classic editions in this region," said Bitar.

The Celestial Edition features Aura's hallmark of enduring sophistication, craftsmanship and inspired excellence. Recalling the beauty of luxury timepieces, the Aura's liquid-crystal display houses 16 million colours and 300dpi resolution on the perfectly round, moon-shaped circular screen, which is a world's first for a mobile device.

The handset is capped with a Grade 1, 62 carat sapphire crystal lens - one of the most scratch-resistant materials on Earth. With more than 700 individual components, including Swiss-made main bearing, the Aura embodies seamless mechanics and beautiful design.
