Dubai Metro transits one million commuters in 16 days

Dubai Metro broke the one million passenger barrier on Saturday (Sept 26th), according to the statistics compiled by Rail Agency at Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) which revealed that 52,956 passengers have been lifted between the 10 operating stations on the Red Line pushing the total number of passengers who travelled on Dubai Metro since it was launched on 090909 to 1,018,030 passengers in 16 days only.
Peyman called on the Metro users to be considerate, avoid rushing to get on board the metro, and carefully read the tips prepared by Rail Agency specialists; which are meant to maintain the safety of all passengers. He also called on them not to make crowds at the front of the metro doors, as it is a prime and direct reason for slowing down passenger alighting and boarding process.
The success of Dubai Metro is a real success to the city of Dubai and a true manifestation of the bustling passenger traffic. What we see now is a strong evidence of the massive urbanization witnessed by the city of Dubai in all fields culminated by the launch of Dubai Metro which has succeeded in attracting commuters who opted to select the metro as a key mobility mode. The metro also contributes to the reduction of gas emissions from vehicles & motorbikes, helps preserve the environment, and creates a fun atmosphere during mobility.
