Land transactions in Dubai top Dhs279.77m

The total value of land transactions in Dubai today Sunday September 27th 2009 peaked at Dhs279.77m, of which sales exceeded Dhs226.50m.

The total value of mortgages during the period was Dhs53.26m, according to the Land Department.

A total of 13 sale transactions were registered with the Department by the end of the day, the most valuable of which was a plot in JABAL ALI that was sold for Dhs56.5m. The next two most prominent sales saw a second plot in JABAL ALI acquired for the sum of Dhs46.5m and another in Palm Jumeirah for Dhs11m.

The RanchesS area was the most active in terms of the day's sales, with some 3 transactions. JABAL ALI followed it with 2 sales.

During the period, JABAL ALI recorded the highest turnover by value, at Dhs103m, followed by the Palm Jumeirah area, Dhs11m, and Ranches area, Dhs6.6m.

The biggest area sold was the 38840.94 sq ft in the Emirates Hills Third area, which went for Dhs6.29m. A 15160.63 sq ft plot in the JABAL ALI Area was acquired for Dhs46.5m, while 14828.78 sq ft of JABAL ALI was disposed of for Dhs56.5m.

During the period under review 11 mortgages worth Dhs20.13m were registered, the most significant of which as the Dhs9m for an area at Palm Jumeirah. There was another for Dhs3m on an area in Emirates Hills Second.

Apartments and villas in freehold areas witnessed the registration of 103 sales transaction out of which 103 were for apartments for a total of 57.94m and 0 for villas at a total sum of Dhs.

A total of 9 mortgages for Dhs9.18m were registered on villas and apartments.
