Oxford Business Group (OBG), the global publishing, research and consultancy firm, has appointed Chase J. Thompson as Editorial Manager for Bahrain.
As he prepared to take on his new appointment, Thompson had positive words for the developments and reforms which are being rolled out in Bahrain as part of its Vision 2030 scheme. "Bahrain has taken tangible steps to move away from its dependency on hydrocarbons and open up to foreign investors," he said. "There are many indications of the progress that the Kingdom is making in diversifying its economy. I am delighted to be based in Bahrain and working on OBG's forthcoming report during this time of significant change."
Oliver Cornock, OBG's Regional Editor, highlighted Thompson's impressive background in the media which has taken him across the Middle East as well as Asia. "During his career, Chase has met and interviewed some of the world's leading political and business figures," he said. "His professional approach, together with the extensive experience that he has gained during this time will most certainly give OBG's coverage of Bahrain an edge and confirms him as the ideal person to take the reins in this exciting role."
Thompson studied at the University of Colorado at Boulder where he graduated with honours in International Affairs and Economics. During his career, Thompson has held positions at the United Nations as well as building up a strong CV in the media. Before taking up his new post, Thompson worked as OBG's Editorial Manager in Dubai. Since joining the Group, he has notched up an impressive list of interviewees which includes Dominique de Villepin, the former Prime Minister of France; Donald Tsang, Chief Executive of Hong Kong; Perry Christie, former Prime Minister of the Bahamas; and HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the Chairman of Emirates Airline.
