Taking inspiration from vintage pieces gathered from all over the world by its team of buyers. Each piece is crafted with special attention to details - ruffles, bows, fabrics and graphic prints - for a styling that is both individual and playful, but essentially feminine.

With a flagship store on London's Oxford Street, Miss Selfridge now has over 200 shops in the UK, Europe, Asia and Middle East, and its reputation is growing internationally, with M.H. Alshaya planning to add a significant number of Miss Selfridge Boutiques in the region.

Autumn / Winter 2009 Collection

For Autumn/Winter 2009 Miss Selfridge presents a cool collection of rock chick inspired designs where embellishment and layering define the look. Metalwork detailing features predominantly in the range with inspiration also taken from apocalyptic sci-fi films such as Mad Max and Dune. Luscious fabric textures and textural prints are used to create a richly decorative theme. Gunmetal, silver, bronze and burnt gold are key colours teamed with taupe, grey and black - petrol tones, emerald, purple, hot pink and cobalt blue inject flashes of colour to the collection. Statement shoulders, sequins, studded detail and body con dresses and high waisted minis form the key silhouettes of the season. Emphasis is on a voluminous top worn with patterned leggings or body con mini skirts, while layering with biker jackets and waistcoats is essential to the look to create a glamorous 'high priestess' of rock feel.

Casual-wear sees a grunge rock vibe with a range of cool placement T-shirts and tight, distressed denim, tie dye, laddering, tonal checks and zip detail is key. Embellished tops are worn with high shine leggings for a perfect day to evening look. Knitwear is prominent this season with tape yarn pieces, lurex colour blocking, metallic and rayon knits and stud detail embellished knits.

The collection is also rich in beautiful high glam pieces for wild nights out on the town or outfits which can be worn from a gig to a nightclub with ease. Geometric and pixelated animal prints define the look mixed with studs and sequins in a combination of matt and shine. Cocktail dresses with gathering and draping detail include jewel encrusted elements, batwing dresses and tops create an eighties silhouette. Extreme shoulders on a gold foil print tux or a Marabou fur jacket complete the look.

Tailoring is sharp and sexy with Prince of Wales check and tonal greys forming the key colours - a grey double breasted jumpsuit is perfect for fashion forward power dressing, structured dresses and smart blazers make a great choice for fashionable work wear.

Accessories see an explosion of animal print in different textures and designs, panelled bags and oversized shoppers feature studding, zips and hardware, jewel coloured metallic clutches are great for evening. Chain mail scarves add glamour to any outfit, rows of bangles in gold, silver and bronze complete the look.
