A key attraction at the International Education Show, billed as a comprehensive higher education resources event in the region, will be the American Pavilion, which will be open on October 4 and 5.

The American Pavilion is aiming to connect students with top American colleges and universities. The universities participating are offering over a hundred thousand dollars in scholarships available to interested international students who meet university requirements.

The total scholarship amount offered by American universities through the US university scholarship fair for the Gulf countries is over $1m.

The show this year is featuring more than 70 acclaimed institutions of higher learning from Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Germany, Hungary, India, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, the United States and the UAE.

Latest undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, vocational training programmes, short-term certificate courses, diplomas, professional development programmes and distance learning courses will be on offer at the show.

Prominent institutions in the country are offering their support for the Education Show, while foreign institutions will have a big presence aimed at wooing the best students.

The profile of exhibitors covers universities, colleges, polytechnics, IT institutes, business schools, technical management training centres, medical schools, hotel management institutes, fine art schools, language centres, aviation colleges, distance-learning institutes, and other tertiary institutions.

Visiting students and parents can also look forward to interacting with banks engaged in providing education loans, professional examination bodies and immigration consultants.

The Education Show will also be a good opportunity for working executives to take up an evening or distant-learning course that will help advance their careers.

Apart from students and parents, student counsellors, policymakers, researchers, teachers and officials from local universities and agencies will also throng the venue looking to enrich their curricula and explore tie-ups with foreign educational institutions.

The show will be open daily from 10am to 2pm and 5pm to 9pm.

The International Education Show is a joint initiative of the UAE Ministry of Education and Expo Centre Sharjah and is supported by the National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority (TANMIA) and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
