SABB Takaful appoints new CEO

SABB Takaful has announced the appointment of Philip Head as the Company's new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from 1 July 2009.

In his new role, Philip will oversee all SABB Takaful operations throughout the Kingdom as well as driving the development of Takaful products across all businesses.

Commenting on Philip's appointment, Dr. Yazid A. Al Ohaly, Chairman of SABB Takaful, said:
"SABB Takaful is aiming for business expansion and development and Philip's appointment underlines our commitment to achieving this."


On his part, Philip said: "The Middle East is a fast-growing market with the take-up of insurance products across the region growing significantly. Takaful is at the forefront of this trend as more people turn for a Shariah compliant solution to their insurance needs. SABB Takaful's unparalleled reputation coupled with the bank's huge customer base for both personal and corporate customers we will undoubtedly continue to benefit from the wide range of business opportunities available to us."

Philip has over 30 years of experience in the global insurance industry including 10 years in the Middle East during which he occupied many leading positions with large insurance institutions in the region and the world. He is a Chartered Insurer and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London since 1987.
