Eskan Bank gold sponsor at BIPEX 2009

Organized by the Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE), BIPEX is a premium regional annual event which brings investors and leading real estate companies together.

In this initiative, Eskan Bank seeks to support the real estate activities development and urban development in general in the Kingdom of Bahrain in line with Bahrain's Vision 2030, throughout BIPEX which provides a unique platform to exchange information between investors, developers and customers, reviewing the real estate current and future activities, in addition to infrastructure projects in the region.

In 2008, BIPEX attracted a record number of 13,500 visitors. The 98 exhibitors included participants from the GCC, the UK, Portugal, India, the Philippines, and Jordan, showcased urban development and infrastructural projects worth a total value of $50bn.

Eskan Bank a specialized mortgage bank was established in 1979. Since inception, the bank has been involved primarily in advancing housing loans to Bahraini nationals under the social housing program as approved annually by the Ministry of Works and Housing. In 2005, Eskan Bank has transformed itself from an institution that only provides social loans into a commercial bank with multiple commercial activities in line with Bahrain's vision of 2030.

Eskan Bank is wholly owned by the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain with an authorized share capital of BD40m of which BD15m is paid up. Eskan Bank set up its subsidiary; The Southern Tourism Company in 2000 to promote tourism and related activities such as, Dhow transport services, management and development of private resort properties and jetty facilities, and to capitalize on the projected high growth potential within the tourism sector. In addition to Eskan Properties which was established on March 2007 catering for the real estate industry.

The Eskan Bank was honored by the Innovation Award in the field of real estate financing by the World Conference of Islamic investment funds in 2008.
