Freshfields tops M&A league table in Mena for 2009

International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has topped the Mergermarket league table for M&A in the Mena region for the first nine months of 2009.

The firm was ranked first by value and advised on the second highest number of deals by volume in the Mena region. Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised on a number of high profile deals during 2009 with an aggregate value of $7.3bn.

David Higgins, Head of Freshfields' corporate practice in the Middle East and North Africa, commented:
