The First 'Made in Turkey' exhibition in Qatar will be attended by more than 200 prominent private sector companies. About 800 company representatives and businessmen will be attending the exhibition, which will be widely covered by a large group of media persons from Turkey.
In this respect, Dr. Murat Yalcintas, the Chairman of ICOC said: The Exhibition covers an area of 15,000 Sq. meters and represented by companies specialized in sectors as diverse as furniture, construction, machinery, cosmetics, souvenir, ready-made garments, and food. Turkish service providers will also make their presence felt in the exhibition.
"Beginning with the 1st Made in Turkey exhibition in Bahrain in 1999 the ICOC has started to strengthen its trade relations with other Gulf countries. Then, ICOC organized exhibitions in Oman and Jordan. I am confident that the ICOC's great success in organizing exhibitions in Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait could be repeated in Qatar too."
The large number of companies' participation in this exhibition at a time of the global financial crisis shows the confidence the Turkish private sector companies have in the Qatari market, he added.
"We are extremely happy to organize the "Made in Turkey" exhibition for the first time in Qatar, the rising trend of Gulf region, Dr. Yalcintas said. I am sure the exhibition will help enhance trade and commercial relations between the two sisterly countries, he added.
Qatar, under the wise leadership of His Highness the Emir, is witnessing major achievements in political, economical, social and human development. The Qatar National Vision aims at transforming Qatar into an advanced country by 2030, capable of sustaining its own development and providing for a high standard of living for its entire people for generations to come.
In this respect, Qatar has accelerated its infrastructure development, in which Turkish investors can play a major role, the ICOC President said.
To add a cultural dimension to this event, the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of the Republic of Turkey will send its Tuana Folk Dance Group to perform at the Doha Exhibition Centre between 03 and 06 October 2009. A glassblowing artist, a ceramic artist and two calligraphers will share Turkish culture with Qatari populace.
"I believe this exhibition will bear fruit in the coming period and it will strengthen the Turkish-Qatari friendship, Dr. Yalcintas concluded.
