The new store was officially inaugurated by His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi - Chairman, Civil Aviation of Ras Al Khaimah.

Centrepoint represents Landmark Group's strategy to create a 'single destination shopping experience' by integrating four of its core retail concepts, Babyshop, Splash, Shoe Mart & Lifestyle under one roof to cater to men, women and children. First launched in Kuwait in 2005, Centrepoint has grown to become the largest non-food retail destination in the Middle East with about 65 stores and a retail space in excess of 3.3m square feet.

"This new branch of Centrepoint is a strategic step in our ambitious growth plans across the Middle East and it offers a fresh opportunity for Landmark Group to extend its promise of exceptional value to the community in Ras Al Khaimah. We wish to express our gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and Member of the UAE Supreme Council, for his vision, leadership and support to our endeavours,"

said Micky Jagtiani, Chairman, Landmark Group.

Located at the Ras Al Khaimah - Sharjah highway, the new Centrepoint covers a total of 65,000 square feet providing an easy shopping destination for the residential areas in close proximity. The store is the ninth in the UAE and features 'Beautybay' for the first time in Ras Al Khaimah. Established in early 2009 and with 13 stores across the Middle East already, Beautybay retails leading beauty and wellbeing brands. This diverse offering makes Centrepoint a one-stop destination for world-class fashion and lifestyle brands.

Vinod Talreja, Director of Centrepoint & Babyshop, said: "We are delighted about the new Centrepoint store in Ras Al Khaimah because we believe the market has been long overdue for such a shopping destination. As an umbrella brand, Centrepoint has successfully integrated Landmark Group's core retail concepts to enhance customers' value; we are looking to expand from our current 65 stores to 70, which will make us the largest retail brand in the Middle East by 2010."

Against the GCC's growing retail backdrop, the Centrepoint concept is innovative and unique, mainly because it provides the trendy teenager, families, newlyweds, women of

all ages, with one concept, one destination for a wide choice of home-grown and international retail brands.

"Centrepoint's family-friendly environment, competitive prices and its wide array of brands have created an enriched shopping experience that has helped build a vast loyal customer base", added Vinod.

Centrepoint has been very successful in the mid market retail segment since its launch and is currently the flagship brand of the Landmark Group present across the GCC, Jordan and Egypt. The brands within the umbrella of retail concepts at Centrepoint include:

Babyshop - a destination store that caters to all the needs of children in their formative years, from clothing to toys and baby furniture
