NBAD's Global Financial Markets Workshop series come as part of the bank initiatives to encourage professional learning and information sharing.

The workshop is hosted by NBAD's financial markets practitioners and top financial markets service providers (Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters). Jointly, with one of the renowned financial training and consultancy agencies, the project team has created two different curriculums designed to suit the needs of the various institutions.

NBAD's Global Financial Markets Workshop series has been developed in partnership with NBAD Academy, which is an NBAD initiative to build a culture of learning and a regional centre of excellence for banking.

Financial Markets Division at NBAD, one of the region's top portals to the financial market place, offers world class trading services in the local, regional and international markets. The Global Financial Markets Workshop project team has carefully designed the first workshop to ensure that it addresses and assists its delegates to meet the likely challenges resulting from the new financial order.

"We look forward to make the Global Financial Markets Workshop an annual event that addresses new market trends, product awareness and best in class market practices in a more practical and international context,"

said Mr. Michael Tomalin, NBAD Group Chief Executive.

"Global financial markets are continuously evolving, forcing us all to remain up-to-date with the latest trends and financial products. Greater knowledge of these trends and products enables individuals to enhance their contribution and value to their respective institutions," said Mr. Mahmood Al Aradi, Senior General Manager, Financial Market Division at NBAD

Global Financial Markets Workshops 2009 programs will cover topics such as:
• The Structure of Capital Markets, Money Markets, Fixed Income and Repo

"The workshop will include extensive usage of exercises and case studies aiming to provide the delegates with up-to-date products and insight on market trends and most importantly, the tools to help them apply these principles in a real world context and evaluate their utility in financial management," said Sameh Abdulla Al Qubaisi, Head of Institutional & Corporate Coverage, NBAD's Financial Markets Division.

To create a realistic financial markets environment, we have also built two dealing rooms at the venue to cater to 70 delegates.

"Putting our clients at heart and keeping wealth preservation in mind is our Financial Markets Division's philosophy. The Institutional & Corporate Coverage (ICC) team at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi was established to harness and leverage on FMD's product range and makes them accessible to all our valued clients. We have created a new financial market coverage model that successfully enabled us to deviate from the existing financial markets' sales platforms and practices.
