Jordan Development Zones to participate in Cityscape Dubai 2009

The Development Zones Commission along with the Master Developers of Maan, Mafraq, Irbid, Dead Sea and Jabal Ajloun Development Zones in Jordan, announced their participation in Cityscape Dubai, which will take place at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center during 5-8 October 2009.

The participation comes to showcase the development zones model and the investment opportunities it offers, and to emphasize the important role played by the development zones in Jordan towards attracting investments, enhancing the economic capability of the kingdom and creating an advanced investment environment of economic activities.

H.E Mr. Saleh Kilani, Chief Commissioner of the Development Zones Commission, stated:
"DZC's participation in Cityscape Dubai for the first time, aims at presenting the unique attributes of investing in Jordan in a variety of sectors including industrial, logistics, IT, Health care, and Real Estate and Eco-Tourism Developments and the vision of development zones manifested in the success model of the three operating zones in Mafraq, Maan and Irbid, and the recently launched Development Zones in the Dead Sea and Jabal Ajloun. We also seek through our participation to highlight the attracting investment environment in the development zones and the incentives and exemptions offered therein, alongside to interacting with senior-level investors, developers, financiers, consultants, government bodies, architects, urban planners and many in this global four day networking exhibition and conference dedicated to the real estate industry."


DZC acts as the government arm in charge of launching, regulating and monitoring the development zones in Jordan and offers a one-stop shop services facilitating all investment-related procedures and official paperwork with efficiency and in a time-effective manner, where investors can benefit from a package of incentives and tax and customs exemptions.

Five Development Zones are currently operating in Jordan under the Development Zones Commission umbrella; King Hussein Bin Talal Development Area in Mafraq (KHBTDA); situated at the nexus of a modern highway network connecting Jordan, Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, is stretched across 21sqm and positioned at a unique strategic geographical location for industrial production and a regional transportation hub for onward movement of goods from and throughout the region and the world, with an adjacent functional airport and a future railway system. KHBTDA sector opportunities are light and medium industry, logistics and Residential, Community Services and Commercial Sector.

Ma'an Development Area (MDA); situated at the largest Governorate in Jordan Ma'an, builds on the area's natural resources including Basalt, Kaolin and Silica and its distinguished location near the Saudi border and on the highway leading to Iraq and GCC markets. MDA is made up of four different yet complementary clusters that will cover approximately 9sqm of surface area; which comprise the Industrial Park, Residential Community, Skill Development Center and Hajj Oasis.

Irbid Development Area (IDA) is located in Jordan's fertile north adjacent to the kingdom's leading scientific institutions and one of the Middle East's foremost ICT and health care universities, and stretched over a 3.2sqm area. IDA Sectors opportunities are; Service Industry (Information and Communication Technology), Health Care, Research and Development and Residential and Mixed Use Commercial.

Dead Sea Development Area is located on the shores of one of the most spectacular and historical landscapes on earth, presenting one-of-a-kind property development and investment opportunities. The Area encompasses approx 40 Km extended on the shoreline of the north and east coasts of the Dead Sea and is bound by mountains and steep terrain to the east and the Jordan River valley to the north, and endowed with cultural, historical, medical or recreational opportunities, offering investment opportunities are focused in the tourism and hospitality sector.

Jabal Ajloun Development Zone, situated in Ajloun, Jordan's newest northern exciting destination, set amid iconic pine forests and olive groves, stretching over approximately 2200 Dunums at an altitude of 1294 meters above sea level, offers boundless opportunities inspired by its God's Green nature and distinguished unmatched East Med climate. Jabal Ajloun Resort Town Opportunities are focused in Eco - Tourism Developments, Hotels, Spas and Resort amenities, Community style living; varied real estate developments, Retail and services.
