Shaikha Maram Isa Al-Khalifa, Head of the Organizing Committee of the show, said,
"BIGS is focused on creating business opportinuties for local and international exhibitors to bolster trade between Bahrain and the world, and on raising awareness about the environment among the general public. It is an event that has broad appeal that relates to all demographics."
According to Mr. Abdul Hamid Al Asfoor, the Managing Director of Albayan Media Group, "the company has contacted more than a thousand exhibitors from different parts of the world to participate in the event. Direct as well as contact through agents has been established with worldwide exhibitors. His Excellency the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture himself will be sending out invites to the entire GCC as well as other friendly countries. The company's in-house marketing team has visited numerous events with the same profile and has directly contacted various potential exhibitors. The event aims to increase international participation by 40% over the next three years."
Mr. Al Asfoor further added that "Bahrain is the ideal host for such an event as it has a state-of-the-art exhibition center that is well-equipped and is commercially accessible from any part of the world with international standards. Studies prove that Bahrain is the second freest economy in the Arab world and therefore can easily become a regional hub for global business conglomerates."
The event has a proven track record of nearly 22,000 visitors and the next edition anticipates a 50% increase in this number. BIGS offers excellent prospects for exhibitors to promote their world-class products and services to a topnotch clientele which includes VIPS, architects, consultants, developers, industry professionals as well as the general public.
More than being an opportunity to generate business, the event will be a platform for the participants to interact and form ties on a global level. Bahrain is a good vehicle for international exhibitors to understand the local and regional issues such as agriculture and plantation.
