"Our research indicates to us that the single most important factor Qatari's look to in an employer is the availability of developmental opportunities. Having recognized this, we are initiating prospects across the bank," said Abdul Hakeem Mostafawi, CEO of HSBC Qatar.

Five individuals were selected for this programme that will broaden their experience in retail banking. After the successful completion of a one year structured programme they will be accredited in the HSBC Global Premier Relationship Manager Academy. The successful candidates for this year's programme are Salman Al Sooj, Hassan Al Haiki, Fahad Al Obaidly, Eman AL Shaibani and Khalood Al Shammari. They were chosen after an intensive selection process that included group discussions and interviews.

"I'm pleased to be one of the few who were selected for this program. This is a major step in my career and an excellent opportunity for Qataris. I encourage all my Qatari colleagues to do their best in order to succeed,"

said Salman Al Sooj.

HSBC Qatar has an ongoing Qatarisation strategy to ensure that local talent development is a long-term project. The number of Qatari employees has increased significantly over the past 24 months. The Bank is committed to support all initiatives that will increase opportunities for talented Qatari nationals.
