Laffan Refinery celebrates first load of Naphtha

Laffan Refinery, operated by Qatargas, has celebrated its first loading of Naphtha on 29 September at the Ras Laffan Port.
He said the the first load contains 31,000 tones of naphtha. Various volumes of other products of the refinery including kerojet, gasoil and LPG will be ready for load-out this month. Once fully online, there will be a product cargo every two to three days.
Laffan Refinery, the first condensate refinery in Qatar, started commercial production recently and has a total processing capacity of 146,000 barrels per stream day (BPSD). It consists of process units including utility systems, distillation units, naphtha and kerosene hydrotreaters, a hydrogen unit and a saturated gas plant and will produce naphtha, kerojet, gasoil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
The refinery is a key part of the strategic vision for Qatar as it processes and adds value to the field condensate produced from the Qatargas and RasGas facilities.
